Article #65: Model Trains with Crews

This article is all about model trains with crews of either 1 or 2 members. The photo above shows 2-6-0 #50 with 2 of the DVCRR workers standing inside. This is really something that you don't see very often when it comes to model trains. usually model railroad locomotives have 1 person or figure in it. But here you have 2 guys in the cab of a steam locomotive which gives the layout and the locomotive a lot of character. When you do this you will give your model railroad more and more to be excited about.

Article #64: Model Trains with Rear End Device

This article is all about a model train with a flashing rear end device or (FRED). This is sort of uncommon when it comes to model trains and they are not seen that much. The photo above shows a coal train on the DVCRR layout and a red circular light is on the back with a red light being lit towards the train and its light. This just 1 way it could be done. This is good especially when doing night photos or videos. It wont show up as much when there are a lot of lights on in the room. Any coupler can hold a circular light like this.

Article 63: Trains at Night and how it can work

This article is all about doing night trains on an HO Scale Layout and how it could work depending on the type of layout. The photo above shows a Pennsylvania GG1 on the display stand at night. A light shining in a dark area on the object at hand is a good way of doing it. Night views have been mote common on the DVCRR recently where there are more trains running with this effect. This spot on the layout is popular because of the display engine stand. This GG1 is the main engine that is on display as the trains pass by day and night.

Article #62: Why Speeders have a Shed

Why Speeders have a Shed     Most speeders/Motor Cars have a shed that they stay in. Most are smaller sized because the speeders are smaller sized themselves. The picture above shows the main speeder shed on the DVCRR layout right beside the passenger station that marks DVCRR. The shed is empty when the speeder is out running during the day and at night it occupies the speeder.   Here is the speeder ready to run for the day with its operator coming out of the shed.

Article #61: The DVCRR's First SD60

The DVCRR's First SD60                                                                                 The first ever EMD SD60 on the Danville County Railroad Layout is right here, and it is painted in the CIT Blue Paint Scheme with zebra stripes on the front and back of the locomotive. The picture above shows the engines at Grovemont siting at the grade crossing. The number of this engine is 6005 and will be used on all kinds of trains across the layout. The DVCRR layout has mainly had older locomotive types like a GP7 or a E/F Unit of some sort, but this is a lit...
