This article is all about a model train with a flashing rear end device or (FRED). This is sort of uncommon when it comes to model trains and they are not seen that much. The photo above shows a coal train on the DVCRR layout and a red circular light is on the back with a red light being lit towards the train and its light. This just 1 way it could be done. This is good especially when doing night photos or videos. It wont show up as much when there are a lot of lights on in the room. Any coupler can hold a circular light like this.
Penn Central F Unit #4715 is another F Unit that is very common on the Danville County Railroad Layout. This F Unit does a lot of helper service on many kinds of trains. In the photo above it is leading a light power move back to the Grovemont Yard and trailing is 0-6-0 Steam Locomotive 06237. This is Penn Central paint scheme that catches your eye right away, with it's aqua paint and Orange & White PC Emblem.
