Article #48: Santa Fe Blue Goose 3460

  This article is all about the HO Scale Santa fe Blue Goose 3460 on the DVCRR Layout. 3460 is a 4-6-4 Hudson Type and it is a really cool locomotive. It's light blue paint scheme and streamlining make it right up there as the most exciting locomotive on the entire layout. Let's go into detail a little bit on this engine. Here is the tender which is lettered SANTA FE and has 2 different shades of blue as well as silver in the middle of that. This is a very important part of the locomotive. Here is a close up look at one of the driving wheels as well as the driving rods.

Article #47: Apple Blossom Special C-Liner

  This article is all about the Apple Blossom Special C-Liner Locomotive that runs on the Danville County Railroad Layout. This engine has pulled a lot of different trains already, and it hasn't even been on the layout for 2 whole weeks yet. It has pulled a work train and a series of coal trains. It is a C-Liner type which is similar to an F Unit.

Article #46: SLOW Sign

  This next article is about a SLOW Sign which stands at the Grovemont Yard on the DVCRR HO Scale Layout, This sign is a very important sign that tells each train that approaches the yard to slow down.

Article #45: Train Crews to the E Building

  This article is about train crews stopping there trains at the E Building on the DVCRR Layout. This E Building is very small and houses most of the paperwork for the trains that originate out of Grovemont Yard. The photo above shows a Seaboard Coast Line C-Liner Locomotive leading a manifest freight out of the yard beside the building.

Article #44: Inside the Grovemont Tower

 This article is all about being inside the HO Scale Grovemont Tower on the DVCRR layout. The photo above shows Western Maryland GP7 #20 on local freight C53 which here is sitting right outside the tower on the mainline. These views from the tower are very interesting to see especially with model trains. Looking out the back windows here is probably the best view.

Article #43: Roundhouse Locomotives

  This article on roundhouse locomotives is about CSX BQ23-7 5135 and Western Maryland GP7 #20. 5135 is in Shed #2 and #20 is in Shed #3. A lot of times there are engines in all 3 sheds, 1 engine at a time is usually how it looks and here the both are beside each other.

Article #42: Brakeman Operations

  The photo above to start this article shows the brakeman on local freight train C53 on the DVCRR Layout. On locals like this one and many other trains on this layout, the brakeman ride on the rear car, being either a caboose or a regular freight car. Here C53 is about to head into the Grovemont Yard. Locals that have cabooses especially need a brakeman to make sure everything is alright back there.

Signs of the DVCRR: Resume Speed

 One of the more interesting signs on the DVCRR Layout is this Resume Speed Sign. This sign is along the mainline at Grovemont near the rail yard and it is there for when a train stops or is going slow, the train will resume it's speed. The photo above is a close up view of it.

Article #41: W&LE Boxcar 25001

  Wheeling & Lake Erie Boxcar #25001 is a boxcar that could show up more very soon the DVCRR Layout. This photo is of the boxcar on a local freight at Grovemont. Boxcars like this one are very reliable because of the materials that they carry and the customers they serve on these local freights.

Article #40: More MOW/Work Trains

  Article 41 here is about more MOW/Work Trains on the Danville County Railroad Layout, and the photo above shows 0-6-0 steam locomotive #06237 pushing a flat car with a truck on it by the railroad crossing at Grovemont. These types of trains can turn up from time to time where you will see flat cars with vehicles on them. And 06237 is another steam locomotive that is very reliable and can pull many trains.

Signs of the DVCRR: Downtown Sign

  This is the first article about Signs of the DVCRR and this first article about this features a Downtown Sign. This is a sign pointing towards Downtown Grovemont which is near the DVCRR Grovemont Yard. This is a very realistic sign with the white letters and green background. This is a sign you will see a lot more soon.

Article #38: 2 Man Steam Engine Crew

  This article goes over a 2 man crew inside 0-4-0 steam locomotive #50 on the DVCRR Layout. The photo above shows the engineer and the conductor inside the #50 ready for the days work. Most crews on the Danville County Railroad are 2 men, but sometimes there are 1 man crews, but is is more common to see 2 men. #50 runs mainly local freights out of Grovemont like C53 or P05.
