Article #95: Santa Fe Railroad Crane Outside

  In this new article we are taking a look at the Santa Fe railroad crane outside. This crane was added to the layout a few years back. This crane has been used in various ways since it has been on the layout. The photo shows a side view of the crane.

Article #94: Seaboard System Tractor Trailer w/ Truck Cab

  In this new article we get a look at the Seaboard System tractor trailer with a red truck cab sitting in between the second and third tracks of the Grovemont Yard. There are a lot of different tractor trailers that are used on the layout, but the two Seaboard System trailers are some of the more common trailers on the layout. Here is a side view of the trailer.

Article #93: Coca Cola Motor Car Sitting Outside

  In this new article we get a look at the Coca Cola motor car sitting outside. This motor car was added to the layout last year. This motor car has multiple different decals as well as a yellow headlight. Here is a side view of the motor car. Here is a front view of the motor car

Article #92: DVCRR Motor Car in Track 2 of Grovemont Yard

  In this new article we get a look at one of the DVCRR motor cars sitting in Track 2 of the Grovemont Yard. This was the first motor car added to the layout back in 2022. This motor car has a headlight, cow catcher and a horn. Every so often, the motor cars can be seen in the tracks of the yard.

Article #91: Yellow Fairmont ST-2 Motor Car Runs with Desire Streetcar #463

  In this new article we are looking at this yellow Fairmont ST-2 motor car running with Desire Streetcar #463 in the mainline heading towards the yard. This motor car runs on the layout frequently, either inspecting the tracks or on special runs like this. Here is a look at Desire Streetcar #463.

Article #90: Penn Central Bay Window Caboose #4930 sits in Yard

  In this new article we will be looking at Penn Central Bay Window caboose #4930.  In bay window cabooses, crew that were monitoring trains sat in the middle of the caboose in a section of wall that projected from the side of the caboose. This type of caboose resulted in a better view of the side of trains. The photo above shows the caboose sitting in track 1 of the grovemont yard. Here is another view of the caboose.

Artcile #89: 2 Loaded Trailer Train Car Carriers in Yard

  In this new article we will be looking at two trailer train car carriers that were added to the fleet of freight cars not long ago. The first photo above shows one of them with a vehicle on the top of it. This kind of car carrier has two different levels for vehicles. Here is the second car carrier sitting in the grovemont yard where we see some cars on both levels. Here is another photo of the same car carrier where we see a VW car on the top level and a red car in the lower level/

Article #88: Rock Island C430 #4301 running Outisde

  In this new article we see Rock Island C430 #4301 running light through the bridge outside on a sunny afternoon. This locomotive is in the red and yellow paint scheme of the Rock Island. This locomotive has ran on the layout regularly in the past, and it will run regularly in the near future. Here is a side view of the locomotive.

Article #87: Orange & Black Fairmont ST-2 Type Motor Car Outside

  In this new article we get a look at this Orange & Black Fairmont ST-2 type motor car sitting outside. This motor car was added to the layout back in March of this year and runs regularly. In the photo above the motor car is sitting outside on a sunny afternoon awaiting a move up the mainline. This is one of 3 ST-2's on the roster of motor cars.

Article #86: Desire Streetcar #463 runs outside with Caboose

  In this new article, we get a look at the Desire Streetcar #463 running outside pushing a red caboose through the bridge on a sunny afternoon. This streetcar runs regularly on the layout, usually it is paired up with another streetcar or a cable car.

Article #85: HO Scale Yellow Fairmont MT-14 Motor Car w/ Southern Railway Caboose X2715 Outside

  In this new article on the blog, we see some HO Scale models outside. Here we see a yellow Fairmont MT-14 motor car with some Christmas lights on the top with a railroad cart and behind it is Southern Railway wooden caboose X2715. This motor car, along with many others run on the layout regularly. The same can be said for this caboose, this caboose operates frequently as well. Here is a different view of the motor car and caboose.  

Article #84: Norfolk Southern Railway Motor Car added to the Layout

  In this new article we are looking at this new motor car that has been added to the layout and it is this Norfolk Southern railway motor car which is in  an orange paint scheme with the logo on one side and the writing on the other side. Here it is sitting in Track 1 of the Grovemont Yard beside a yellow Fairmont ST-2 motor car which is in Track 2. Here is a front view of the motor car in track 1 of the yard. Here is a look at the other side where it has the Norfolk Southern writing.

Article #83: Southern Railway Alco RS-3 2105 gest added to the Layout

  A new locomotive has been added to the layout and it is this Southern Railway Alco RS-3 2105. The photo above shows the locomotive going by the roundhouse near the Grovemont Yard. This locomotive will mainly run on local freights in and out of the yard. Here is a look at the back of the locomotive.

Article #82: New HO Scale Motor Car added to the Layout

  Here in this new article we get a look at this new motor car that has been added to the layout. This is an HO Scale model of a Fairmont motor car. In the picture above we see the motor car sitting on the mainline track near the rail yard. It is in a black and orange paint scheme. Here is a side view of the motor car. Locomotive Review #11: CIT SD60 6005

  In our 11th locomotive review, we are looking at this CIT SD60 6005. The picture above shows 6005 heading by the roundhouse heading towards the Grovemont Yard with an engineer at the throttle. This locomotive can run on a variety of trains on the layout. Here is a side view of the locomotive where you can see the logo in the middle.

Article #81: The Motor Cars Part 2

This article is all about the motor car's, and this is Part 2. The photo above shows Motor Car #1 which is in a yellow paint scheme with an engineer at the controls as well as a railroad cart behind it in Track 1 of the Grovemont Yard.  This next motor car is also in a yellow paint scheme has a headlight on each side  as well as a lever. In the photo above there is an operator standing on the side.  This motor car is in a blue paint scheme and has the Missouri Pacific eagle logo on the side and here is running through Track 1 of the roundhouse.

Locomotive Review #10: American Flyer Baltimore & Ohio Royal Blue Steam Locomotive

  This new locomotive review is all about this American Flyer Baltimore & Ohio Royal Blue steam locomotive #350. The photo above shows the locomotive sitting beside one of the HO Scale buildings near the rail yard. It is in an all blue paint scheme with the B&O logo on the front. This locomotive is on display only. Front view of #350.

Article #80: Pennsylvania Railroad GG1 4866

  This new article is all about Pennsylvania Railroad GG1 4866. This locomotive sits on display near the N Scale track as well as the roundhouse and the Grovemont Yard. This locomotive was made by Avon and has been on the layout for quite some time. The photo above shows 4866 sitting beside one of the HO Scale buildings. Side view of 4866.

Locomotive Review #9: Western Maryland GP7 #20

  This locomotive review is all about Western Maryland GP7 #20. This locomotive is in the red and white paint scheme of the Western Maryland, and has a chop nose cab. The photo above shows #20 nearing the Grovemont Yard in the area of the roundhouse.                           #20 sitting beside the interlocking tower near the speeder shed track.

Locomotive Review #6: Apple Blossom Special C-Liner #46

  This Locomotive review #6 is all about the Apple Blossom Special locomotive #46. This locomotive is a C-Liner type and in the picture above it is sitting in the Grovemont Yard. This engine can run on different types of trains across the layout and is one of the more common locomotives on the layout.
