Article #84: Norfolk Southern Railway Motor Car added to the Layout

 

In this new article we are looking at this new motor car that has been added to the layout and it is this Norfolk Southern railway motor car which is in  an orange paint scheme with the logo on one side and the writing on the other side. Here it is sitting in Track 1 of the Grovemont Yard beside a yellow Fairmont ST-2 motor car which is in Track 2.

Here is a front view of the motor car in track 1 of the yard.
Here is a look at the other side where it has the Norfolk Southern writing.

This newest article on the Danville County Railroad Layout is A Night a Grovemont. You will see pics at night at different locations along the layout. From the passenger station to the roundhouse, you will see a few trains as they make their night runs.  Western Maryland #20 on Light Move   Sitting right beside the passenger station is Western Maryland GP7 #20 ready to head out of the yard at Grovemont on a light move. The light move is essentially a work train headed down the line towards one of the other yard's where the trains originate The platform of the station is lit up shining right onto the train. It will meet a local freight up the line after departing. After the Go7 had gone by, we see Alco S3 #6 pulling a local freight back towards the yard at Grovemont. On this photo is is hauling 1 boxcar past the main railroad crossing by the roundhouse. The roundhouse is where the locomotive will turn in for the night getting ready for the next morning. Locomotive Review #5: Rio Grande 3980

  In this locomotive review #5 we are looking at Rio Grande Locomotive 3980. The photo above shows the locomotive sitting beside the passenger station as well as one of the display trains. This locomotive is mainly used on local trains. 3980 going by one of the railroad crossings.

Locomotive Review #4: Seaboard Coast Line Rail Diesel Car 201

  In this Locomotive Review #4 we look at Seaboard Coast Line Rail Diesel Car #201. This is an RDC-1 type. The photo above shows the RDC heading by the railroad crossing near the roundhouse heading out of the yard area. This is currently the only RDC on the layout.
