Short Story #4: The New Piece

Engineer Willie is trying out the newest piece of equipment on the Danville County Railroad Layout, The Motor Car! It has a headlight on both sides as well as a Grab-N-Hook Bar & a lever to go forward and reverse. Now he's trying it out and it's working.


Willie: Hey Mark it's working.
Mark: The Motor Car?
Willie: Yeah!
Mark: Well that's great.
Willie: I want to get it running as soon as possible
Mark: For sure, i really like it.
Willie: Hey we can give rides to visitors, don't you think?
Mark: That's a great idea.
Willie: I guess it was a good build after all
Mark: Heck Yeah

It was a good build for the DVCRR. And since it's new it will garner a lot of attention.

This newest article on the Danville County Railroad Layout is A Night a Grovemont. You will see pics at night at different locations along the layout. From the passenger station to the roundhouse, you will see a few trains as they make their night runs.  Western Maryland #20 on Light Move   Sitting right beside the passenger station is Western Maryland GP7 #20 ready to head out of the yard at Grovemont on a light move. The light move is essentially a work train headed down the line towards one of the other yard's where the trains originate The platform of the station is lit up shining right onto the train. It will meet a local freight up the line after departing. After the Go7 had gone by, we see Alco S3 #6 pulling a local freight back towards the yard at Grovemont. On this photo is is hauling 1 boxcar past the main railroad crossing by the roundhouse. The roundhouse is where the locomotive will turn in for the night getting ready for the next morning.   In this locomotive review #5 we are looking at Rio Grande Locomotive 3980. The photo above shows the locomotive sitting beside the passenger station as well as one of the display trains. This locomotive is mainly used on local trains. 3980 going by one of the railroad crossings.

Locomotive Review #4: Seaboard Coast Line Rail Diesel Car 201

  In this Locomotive Review #4 we look at Seaboard Coast Line Rail Diesel Car #201. This is an RDC-1 type. The photo above shows the RDC heading by the railroad crossing near the roundhouse heading out of the yard area. This is currently the only RDC on the layout.
