Model Railroad Article #7: Locomotive Cab Tours

 



This article is all about locomotive cab tours on a model railroad layout, this is something that is very common the Danville County Railroad Layout, now the first photo is inside a EMD GP7 shunting a gondola & a caboose on the main track, the 2nd photo you see the engineer standing in the cab of CSX BQ23-7 5135 with some sunlight coming in. This is a very realistic thing to do on a layout. This can be a fun thing to do on any layout if it is possible, and there are multiple locomotives on this layout where that can happen.

Union Pacific Locomotive visits the Layout

On the DVCRR Layout there are lot's of different locomotives that run across the line, but there are not many Union Pacific Locomotives. Well here that changed as Union Pacific GP38-2 623 visits the layout. The pictures shows it beside a Amtrak F40PH on display and the engineer holding his lantern out the window. This is an engine that has and will become more and more frequent on the layout and it will se assigned to various locals that originate out of the Grovemont Yard.  every now and then engines from the 2 locals switch out and engines and this one should be on those.

Model Railroad Article #15: Penn Central F Unit 4715

 Penn Central F Unit #4715 is another F Unit that is very common on the Danville County Railroad Layout. This F Unit does a lot of helper service on many kinds of trains. In the photo above it is leading a light power move back to the Grovemont Yard and trailing is 0-6-0 Steam Locomotive 06237. This is Penn Central paint scheme that catches your eye right away, with it's aqua paint and Orange & White PC Emblem.
