Model Railroad Article #14: Amtrak E Unit

 

This Amtrak E Unit is a unique unit of the Danville County Railroad and is one that will show up more and more coming up. This unit was custom painted which is something very common when it comes to model railroad locomotives and locomotive shells. The photo above shows the E Unit in the roundhouse ready for the days operations with its engineer ready to work.

Article #90: Penn Central Bay Window Caboose #4930 sits in Yard

  In this new article we will be looking at Penn Central Bay Window caboose #4930.  In bay window cabooses, crew that were monitoring trains sat in the middle of the caboose in a section of wall that projected from the side of the caboose. This type of caboose resulted in a better view of the side of trains. The photo above shows the caboose sitting in track 1 of the grovemont yard. Here is another view of the caboose.

  In this new article we get a look at the Seaboard System tractor trailer with a red truck cab sitting in between the second and third tracks of the Grovemont Yard. There are a lot of different tractor trailers that are used on the layout, but the two Seaboard System trailers are some of the more common trailers on the layout.   In this new article we are taking a look at the Santa Fe railroad crane outside. This crane was added to the layout a few years back. This crane has been used in various ways since it has been on the layout. The photo shows a side view of the crane.
